A few software questions

Postby 3ricj » Mon Sep 21, 2015 3:50 am

- How can I determine the version of the software on the system?
- Is there any method to restart a job if the system has been restarted?
- Why does it freeze up sometimes while drawing? pauses of 30+ seconds, then it restarts...

I would just download the most recent version from the software upgrade forum and upgrade your QuickDraw so you know you are on the current version. I'll also add an enhancement to the list to show the current version.

As far as restarting, the only thing I can think of is that it could be running out of memory if you are using the Raspberry Pi Model A with only 256mb of ram.

What if we just send you a new model B+ Raspberry Pi and you send us back your version. That way, you get a new Pi and we can try to troubleshoot the issues related to the version you have. If that sounds good, can you email me your address and I'll get it in mail by Tuesday.

Thanks,

Matt

Swapping Pis - sounds great.

I think you are on to something with the RAM:

[ 7388.990943] Out of memory: Kill process 2415 (java) score 852 or sacrifice child
[ 7388.990979] Killed process 2415 (java) total-vm:473584kB, anon-rss:202504kB, file-rss:812kB
